Relatable and romantic mature romance

The beauty and strength of this mature romance rests in the premise: Guy and Marnie have been married a long time and things are no longer going well. I can’t recall the last time I discovered a romance featuring a married couple trying to work through a rough patch for whom it looks like divorce is imminent. It is a testament once again to Skully’s superlative writing that she is able to plumb the emotional depths of both characters and emerge with such a plausible, gritty, and sensual story. From the very cringe-worthy misunderstandings between them, to the very undeniable attraction and love between them, I was invested in seeing how this terrifically relatable romance played out, and I was never disappointed.I read an advance copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
