Intense

Excellent writing. The author developed her protagonist with lots of baggage that it was difficult for me to like her. But that is how the author expected me to react. I won’t discuss plot. You can read the synopsis to get that information. What is more important is how the author weaves the similarities between victims and main character, so that the main character’s flaws are revealed along with the victims. The main character grows up, reluctantly and partially during the story. The story is sad. Love is what her dead husband wants her to find, but she is determined not to in order to hang onto the guilt she feels for unsaid things when he was alive. My one hope is that the author will have the main character continue to grow, i.e. apologize to her dead husband for not showing her love or making him feel loved while he was alive.
