finding out who you really are…

WISHING IN ROME is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are a few sexy scenes if that is an issue for you. The main part of the story is set in Rome. If you have ever been, you get to revisit all the tourist spots as well as new places. Lots to learn as the characters visit popular sites. I’ve been so it was fun to revisit these places. A great love story as well. The main characters are older than in the usual love story. I like these ages better because these people have lived, and they don’t play silly games. Great read.Dana, 50 and her best friend and divorce lawyer, Carol are out for their usual walk when Carol falls to the ground in pain. They get her to the hospital in time and everything seems to be going well when she suddenly has another attack, and she dies. Dana has lost her best friend since they were 8 years old.Carol had arranged for Dana to take a trip to Rome to find herself. Her husband divorced her to marry his paralegal and she is now pregnant. It has not been an easy time. But Dana does as her friend requested and she arrives in Rome by herself to stay for 3 weeks. She also gave Dana $50,000 to go first class all the way.Marshall, 55, single, never married, no kids, is the CEO at a large company in San Francisco is in Rome on business with a little sightseeing on the side when he spots Dana at one of the big tourist spots. He starts talking to her and they strike up a friendship. Both being from the bay area is just one of the things they have in common. This is a great read. I started reading late in the afternoon and had to quit at 2 a.m. It was so good there was hardly a place to quit reading. The story has some sad parts, but it also has a lot of fun, humorous places as well. It is a great love story. With both main characters being in their 50’s, they have had some rough spots but are headed toward the rest of their lives. Best book I have read in a while. I highly recommend it.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer, nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am not a bot. I am a reader, and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/23/2023.
