People: Erotic in this genre does, indeed, mean graphic sex. There are many, many authors who have content as explicit as this one, but what I love about this series, as I stated in my earlier review, is that the sex isn’t just word porn; it’s part of the story. The author is very clever and everything contributes to the character development. It’s dark. If that’s not for you, that’s not because the book isn’t good, it’s just not your style. I’m having such a hard time with the reviews that are saying the series isn’t good. It’s amazing. You might not like it, and that’s totally fine. But why slam it?But I’m saying it’s well-written and it’s compelling and I was riveted. It’s not even my normal genre, and I kept buying the next one to see what happened. If you’re a fan of explicit sex, of dark, of mystery, then go for it. If you’re not put-off by those things, and you enjoy good writing, then give it a chance!!Below is my original review—This book was unexpected. It’s not just one thing — it’s a mystery, a love story, and a thriller. It’s analytical, mysterious, erotic and it’s dark. Max is flawed, funny, sexy and broken. The men in her life are fantastic. I’m in love with all of the characters. Yes, the sex is explicit; and in this book it’s not gratuitous. It’s one of the characters.If you ONLY enjoy light romance, this book is NOT for you. But if you want a grown-up romance and can handle some grit, check this series out! It’s grown-up, smart, well-written and well-edited.
