Last week, my husband and I spent a wonderfully romantic week in South Lake Tahoe. We stayed up on the ridge near Heavenly. The thing I love about the resort is that you can walk out of the hotel and right into the woods. The Tahoe Rim trail is right there! So we got in some gorgeous hikes, averaging about 10 miles a day. It was fabulous!

Here’s a photo of our first sunrise. I didn’t close the curtains and I woke up to this. Of course, I dashed up to the roof top hot tubs and got this photo.

Here we are on our first hike. It was cold but we were bundled up nicely!

The moon was just coming out when we returned from our hike on the second day!

My goal was to climb to the top of the ski runs!

And I made it! 8914 feet! It says that on the side of the ski lift, I swear!

Then it really started to snow.

Even the deer didn’t like it! That magnificent buck just hunkered down.

But we got all warm again by hot tubbing in the snow! It was fabulous!

Hope you enjoyed my travel log! Next year, we hope the Norwegians will come to Tahoe with us for a bit of downhill skiing and snowshoeing. I bought my snowshoes!
